Set within a medium sized garden with a variety of mature trees and shrubs, the detached bungalow in Paisley had recently been extended and it was the desire of the clients to improve the access to the garden, incorporate a new summerhouse and offer flow around the garden.

We created a geometrically shaped garden creating deep borders around and within the lawn offered interest, places for focal points and additional seating.

We extended the existing borders that previously hugged the boundary and combined the existing mature trees and shrubs with a rich and layered planting palette that worked for the various aspects within the garden. Plants that thrive in a wide range of conditions were used to add unity and harmony throughout the garden.

We remodelled the existing sloping access path into a series of terraces that offered spaces to locate a screened utility area, create steps for ease of access and deep borders filled with planting. From the terraces, generous steps lead onto the lawn from an elevated walkway.

The existing dining terrace adjacent to the kitchen had been poorly laid by house builders. This was lifted and relaid so as to not waste materials.

From the dining terrace, an informal gravel path set beneath a bespoke pergola adorned with climbing roses draws the eye to the summerhouse beyond. Nestled in the corner, the summerhouse and adjoining deck offers the perfect place to enjoy the evening sun and a view through planting across the garden.

Set beneath mature Acers, we created a shady seating spot that over looks an angular island border to enjoy in the heat of the summer.

We now find it so much easier to navigate the garden safely and there is so much of interest to look at when we get the opportunity to sit and relax.

We felt your design best resolved the issues whilst taking careful consideration of the mature trees we wished to retain.

The garden is really lovely and has been much admired. We would have absolutely no problem in recommending you to any prospective clients.
